Nominaciones a los Hollywood Music in Media Awards 2023 (HMMA)

Se dieron a conocer las nominaciones a los Hollywood Music in Media Awards o HMMA 2023, premios a la mejor música que nos ofreció la industria fílmica en el pasado ciclo.

Las carreras al Oscar a Mejor Score Original y Mejor Canción Original suelen ser las más frustrantes, pues la gran mayoría de votantes, tanto de asociaciones como HMMA como la Academia, ni siquiera ven las películas, sino que solo escuchan fragmentos para tomar su decisión, o peor aún, solo votan por sus amigas (Diane Warren). Aunque hay muchísimas categorías, estos problemas ya se ven en la lista de nominaciones a los HMMA que incluye scores y canciones de películas que ni siquiera se han estrenado (The Color Purple, Origin, La sociedad de la nieve, entre muchos ejemplos), así como la obligatoria mención a la compositora corrupta y simpatizante del genocidio en Palestina, Diane Warren.

Con estas nominaciones podemos vislumbrar la visibilidad y popularidad de algunas contendientes al Oscar, por ejemplo, Barbie, que recibió cuatro nominaciones, una por su score, dos por sus canciones “What Was I Made For?” de Billie Eilish y “I’m Just Ken”, interpretada por Ryan Gosling, quien también esta nominado a Mejor Interpretación en Película.

Una película que no se ha estrenado pero cuya música impresionó a la HMMA es Wonka, pelícua que recibió cuatro nominaciones, incluyendo a Timothée Chalamet por su interpretación de “A World of Your Own”. Por otro lado, Halle Bailey recibió mucho amor por su trabajo, como intérprete y compositora, por The Little Mermaid y The Color Purple.

Algunxs artistas nominadas por canciones originales en estos HMMA 2023 son Lenny Kravitz (Rustin), Olivia Rodrigo (The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes), Bono (Footy Foot Man), Carla Morrison (With this Light), Jack Black (The Super Mario Bros. Movies) y OK GO (The Beanie Bubble).
